| Coronado Lighter Cover Direct Download! (Pdf, 327 kB) |
| The Spanish explorer Francisco Vazquez de Coronado explored the South Western part of the United States in a search for Cibola, the legendary city of gold. He never found it, but what he did find was magnificent — the Grand Canyon.
As you search for the treasure in your life, take along this south-west inspired beaded lighter cover. I chose to use delica beads in shades of turquoise, terre cotta, cream and wrought iron, but you can change the colors to suite your tastes.
The panel also stands alone and would make an wonderful south-west style amulet bag.
This south-western inspired design was inspired by my recent stay at a resort with the same theme. The beaded cover can be made flat in either peyote or brick stitch and zipped up the back. The bottom is finished with a simple netting technique.
On the pattern pages, I have provided you with:
- a full-color graph-style beading chart for the cover
- a color key with suggested delica bead colors and bead counts
- step-by-step instructions to finish the bottom of the cover with the netting technique
- a Word Chart to create the cover in Brick Stitch
- color photos of the front and back of the finished lighter cover as well as the flat panel before it is wrapped around the lighter

| "It is always darkest before the dawn" is a proverb that I have found the be true. Right before the sun breaks over the horizon, the sky is a dark grey-black color. | Snow Day Tea Light Cover Direct Download! (Pdf, 544 kB) |
| Here is a project that you can work on to celebrate your next snow day.
Snowflakes are formed by ice crystals falling through the atmosphere. Each flake is unique because each one travels an individual path through different temperatures and humidity levels.
I chose to design this Lacy Snowflake tea light cover to use 11/0 irregular beads to give it the same type of originality.
11/0 glass beads are not all identical. Their slight differences help to add sparkle in this delicate, lacy tea light cover.
I worked the pattern in tubular even count peyote stitch around a tube that I made from a toilet paper tube. Instructions to help you make your own tube are included on page 3.
The four page pattern features:
- a large graph-style beading chart for the beaded band
