Cellini Spiral Hair Stick

Cellini Spiral Hair Stick Direct Download! (Pdf, 516 kB)
A Cellini Spiral combines beads of different sizes together into a woven pattern that creates a pronounced spiral effect on a beaded tube. The stitch is commonly used to create bracelets and necklaces, but this pattern will show you how to use it to make a hair stick topper.

This dimensional hair stick topper combines delica beads in purple, green and white with green 8/0 glass beads. Although these are the colors in the pattern, you could easily change them to a combination that better suits your needs.

The beaded topper is sized to fit a chopstick.

The two page pattern features:
  • a large, graph style beading chart for the cellini spiral bead work
  • color key with suggested delica and 8/0 bead colors and bead counts

Stellar Eclipse
Stellar Eclipse Direct Download! (Pdf, 186 kB)
How did the stars get in the sky and who put them there? Why are they arranged the way they are? Do the symbols and shapes that I see mean anything? or am I just imagining them?

These are questions that humans have asked since the beginning of time. The Navaho story "Why Coyote Howls at the Moon" is a Native American story that answers this question.

In honor of this story, I have named this piece "Stellar Eclipse". The design is half of a morning star. I chose to use jewel-toned fall colors of red, orange and yellow because when I look at the autumn sky, these are the colors I see in the stars.

This one-page pattern features:
  • A large graph-style beading chart for the barrette
  • A color key with suggested delica colors and bead counts
  • A full-color photo of the finished piece
  • A photo of a suggested alternate color-way for a spring/summer version of the barrette done in 11/0 irregular beads
Approximate Finished size:
