| Feathers are very important in the Native American community. We give and receive feathers from each other and from our feathered brothers.
We use these feathers in ceremonies and as part of our regalia. In order to protect the quills of the feathers, we will sometimes bead on them.
The easiest beading technique for a quill is peyote stitch.
This pattern features a Turtle motif. Turtle medicine can be very helpful to call upon. It reminds us to slow down and look where we are.
